Over Thanksgiving weekend, Burr Oak Woods demonstrates traditional uses of native plants at four hands-on craft stations: basic weaving, natural dyeing, blending herbal soap and making plantable wildflower seed note cards. The program connects crafting with wilderness survival knowledge. Family sessions run 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 28 and are open to all ages, although the weaving and dyeing stations are for ages 12 and up. Registration is required for one session. A separate noon session is for adults only.
