Ballet Minnesota's annual full-length Classic Nutcracker returns to The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University in St. Paul for three performances the weekend before Christmas, with guest principal dancers from New York City joining the company. Clara's Christmas Eve party, Drosselmeyer's gift, the battle with the Rat King, the snowy forest and the Kingdom of the Sweets with the Sugar Plum Fairy are all staged with full costumes and sets. Performances are Saturday, Dec. 19 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m.; doors open 30 minutes before. The run time is about 150 minutes plus a 15-minute intermission, which is long for very young children. Assigned seating: adults $49, seniors $39, children $16, plus a $2.75 per-ticket fee and a 3% order processing fee.
