Mt. Airy's Autumn on the Avenue returns on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 3:30 to 6 pm. The Go Mt. Airy Business Association invites families to bring kids in costume for a pre-Halloween trick-or-treat at local businesses on the 6600 through 6900 blocks of Germantown Avenue, between Grocery Outlet and Mt. Airy Playground. Along the way there are hands-on kids' crafts with local artists, a spooky story time in St. Michael's graveyard at the corner of E. Phil Ellena Street and Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia Fire Department fire trucks on display, a book sale and nature-bracelet making by Friends of Lovett at Lovett Library, and the Philly Rhythm Youth Drum Line. Stops include Grocery Outlet, Zsa's Ice Cream, the Engine No. 9 fire station, Bella Mosaic's craft station, Lovett Library and the Mt. Airy CDC pop-up in front of the post office at 6711 Germantown Avenue, and a haunted rec center at Mt. Airy Playground begins right after. Normal traffic keeps using the Avenue, so take care crossing. No fee is listed; adult beverages are sold at the Tired Hands Beer Garden.
