The 10th annual Delco Turkey Trot, billed as the biggest Thanksgiving Day 5K in Delaware County, starts and finishes at Nether Providence Elementary School in Wallingford, with all proceeds going to the school's PTO. Younger runners have their own one-mile Little Drumstick Fun Run at 8:30 am, then the 5K for runners, walkers and families starts at 9. Every finisher gets a medal, and refreshments are served afterward; kids run with untimed yellow bibs. Fees step up through the fall: through October 31 it is $35 for adults 13 and up and $20 for kids 12 and under, rising to $40 and $25 in November and $45 and $30 in race week. Registering by October 31 guarantees a youth or adult T-shirt. Strollers are welcome, pets are not, and the race is rain or shine with no refunds. Parking and bib pick-up details are still to be announced.
