Elmwood Park Zoo's educators lead an Owl Prowl for families on a November Friday evening, starting from Norristown Farm Park rather than the zoo itself. The group sets out on a night hike to explore the sleeping forest and listen for nocturnal birds, and the evening ends with a close encounter with one of the zoo's ambassador owls. Participants are asked to dress warmly and bring their best listening ears. The program runs from 6 to 7:30 pm and costs $5 per person; registration is required in advance, and payment is collected at the start of the program. It is part of the zoo's Eco-Family Programs, a series of workshops that take a deeper look at the natural world.
