A family version of Briar Bush's popular summer-camp survival unit. Families learn what to do if lost in the woods: how to build a shelter, how to start a fire safely, and how to decide what is safe to eat and drink, since not every berry or sparkling stream is harmless. The program is outdoors, rain or shine, on trails that mix asphalt, woodchips, gravel, roots and slopes, so dress for the weather. It is recommended for ages 6 and up. Everyone 2 and older must register, children need a registered adult (not a drop-off), and registration closes at noon on November 6.
