- Phoenixville Firebird Festival
Phoenixville celebrates its namesake every December by burning a 20-foot phoenix that community volunteers spend about three months building, from skilled carpenters to people just learning to use a hammer. The 2026 Firebird Festival is on Saturday, December 12 at Reservoir Park on Franklin Avenue. The festival village opens at 3 pm with craft and food vendors, drummers, dancers, fire breathers and live music around the grounds, and the bird is set alight at 6:30 pm, which organizers note is the burn time this year. The phoenix is built near the Dayton Street entrance by the cemetery. A $25 supporter contribution buys access to a roped-off area close to the fire, and a $25-per-entry raffle picks two torchbearers to light the bird. The site does not list a general admission charge.
