The Pineland Striders running club holds its fifth Boxing Day 5K on Saturday, December 26 on the residential roads around Signal Hill Elementary School in Voorhees. A free Kids' Fun Run of about a quarter mile, open to runners, walkers or crawlers under 10, starts at 8:40 am, and the chip-timed, USATF-sanctioned 5K follows at 9; the hilly course includes a short flat grass section and roads are not closed to traffic. After the race the club's regifting raffle lets every participant pick a donated gift, whether or not they brought one. The 5K is $35 until November 26 and $40 after, and proceeds go to Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge.
