Fountain Hills starts Thanksgiving Day with what the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce bills as the largest Thanksgiving Day Parade west of the Mississippi. The free parade moves through Downtown Fountain Hills from 9:30 to 10:45 am with floats, local businesses, service organizations, classic car clubs, troops, school groups and dance routines. The 2026 theme, "Happy Birthday America!", ties the parade to the nation's 250th anniversary. At about an hour and a quarter, it is a manageable morning outing for young children before the holiday meal; families who want to move first can join the town's Turkey Trot 5K and fitness walk, which starts downtown at 7:15 am. The town's event guide does not print the route or viewing areas; the Chamber's website, FHChamber.com, has more information.
