- Pennsylvania DCNR with the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh hosts a free night of stargazing at Hillman State Park. After a 45-minute presentation, families head out to view celestial objects through a range of basic and advanced telescopes, and can stay as long as they like until about 10 pm; you may also bring your own telescope. Bring warm layers, and leave phones, flashlights, glow sticks and flash photography off so eyes can adjust to faint objects. The event depends on the weather: if the sky is overcast or rain is forecast, it will be rescheduled.
