Penn Hills Library rings in the new year early with a Noon Years Eve Storytime for young children on December 31. The program is built around a midday countdown and a balloon drop, and families are invited to stay afterward for music, dancing and bubbly drinks. It is designed for children from birth to age 5, which makes it a practical way for little ones who will be asleep at midnight to join the celebration. The storytime takes place in the library's Community Room and lasts about 45 minutes. Registration is required, and the library asks families to register each individual child. This is separate from the Maker Lab party-props workshop for school-age children held the same morning.
