Phipps' Garden Railroad: Fairies and Gnomes is a miniature fantasy forest where model trains wind through gnome and fairy villages. Children can step beneath a tree canopy to watch gnomes at work at an interactive sawmill, spot animatronic dragonflies on trees and logs, look for fairies decorating their homes among flowers and glowing gems, and follow a train around a Forest Floor Marketplace where insects and woodland creatures gather. A special golden dragonfly is hidden in the garden for sharp-eyed kids to find. The exhibit is open now and runs through Sunday, March 7, so it can be combined with the fall and holiday flower shows. Walk-in visits are welcome, though Phipps encourages buying timed tickets in advance.
