Philip Foster Farm, the Oregon Trail-era homestead in Eagle Creek run by the Jacknife-Zion-Horseheaven Historical Society, opens its grounds for a free country Christmas on the first Saturday of December. Families can visit with Santa, and the farm says there is no charge for a picture with him while you are there. The day also offers what the farm calls pioneer hospitality and traditional music, and visitors can pick up a Christmas tree on site. The farm's country store stocks books, toys, games and crafts, which makes it a stop for small holiday gifts. No reservations are required, so families can drop in any time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The farm sits in rural Clackamas County, and much of the visit happens outdoors on the historic grounds.
