A weekend holiday excursion on the historic Chelatchie Prairie Railroad out of Yacolt in north Clark County. The diesel-hauled train runs four trips each Saturday and Sunday from Thanksgiving weekend to the weekend before Christmas. Along the way riders look down on the Lewis River from a hillside vantage point and pass through a tunnel cut through solid rock before the train reaches Moulton Station. At the station stop there is warm cider, cocoa and coffee, and Santa hands a gift to each child, so bring a camera. The whole ride takes about 1 hour 45 minutes. Indoor seating is limited, so dress the family for the weather, and plan to be at the Yacolt station 30 minutes before departure to collect tickets. Fares are sold by date and departure time on the railroad's ticket site: adults, seniors 60+ and youth 3–12 each have their own fare.
