Before Holly Days, Hillsboro's community holiday tree makes a parade of its own. Sponsors including HWY Heavy Hauling harvest a locally sourced evergreen and truck it down Main Street through historic downtown to the Hillsboro Civic Plaza, where it is installed and then decorated by the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership with City of Hillsboro sponsorship. The procession passes between 11 am and 1 pm on Friday, November 13, and Santa may be on hand to preside over the installation. It is a short, free-to-watch street moment that children who love big trucks will enjoy; line Main Street to see it go by. The tree is lit a week later at the Holly Days Celebration.
