Historic downtown Hillsboro's holiday festival, held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving by the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership. From 2 to 7 pm the streets fill with a winter artisan market, carolers, live music on the Cultural Arts District stage and in-shop activities at downtown merchants, plus a Kids Village. Santa and friends hold court at the 'North Pole at HART' (2nd Avenue and Washington Street) for family photos — dress up for Christmas-card pictures. At 6 pm the Mayor counts down, with help from Santa, to light the community holiday tree in the Civic Center Plaza, followed by a carol sing-along led by the Oregon Chorale. TriMet's Blue Line MAX and several bus lines stop at Hillsboro Central Transit Center a few steps away, and there is street parking downtown.
