Not every child can stay up until midnight, so Cornelius Public Library throws a Noon Year's Party on New Year's Eve, Thursday, December 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families can enjoy snacks, crafts, games and music, then count down together to noon instead of midnight. The library says the program is for all ages, and the bilingual listing (English and Spanish; in Spanish it is called Año Nuevo sin Desvelo) is tagged for kids, teens and adults. It gives young children a daytime way to mark the new year with their grown-ups. No registration method or fee appears in the library's calendar.
