Sherwood's annual holiday afternoon in Old Town. At 4 pm a community parade of family-friendly entries and floats — with the Sherwood High School Marching Band, the Maid Marian Court and Santa Claus — sets off near 12th Street and Sherwood Boulevard and winds to Cannery Square Park. The tree lighting follows, usually around 5 to 5:15 pm, with several local school choirs, a visit from Santa and a sing-along with the Junior and Senior Maid Marian Court. Around Cannery Square, children can tell Santa and his elves their wishes in the Santa Tent and receive a free Santa surprise bag while supplies last; free hot dogs, cookies, hot chocolate and coffee are served with help from the Boy Scouts. Family groups are welcome to enter the parade.
