An evening holiday lights walk through the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, the highest-elevation zoo in the United States, presented by Visit Big Bear with the zoo and the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District. Families wander through a series of themed light worlds: a 100-foot Great Pine and an oversized teddy bear at the entrance, red-and-gold arches, fire pits for s'mores with live holiday music near some of the zoo's nocturnal animals, Rudolph's Storybook Adventure with Rudolph, Bumble and the misfit toys plus a lit-up playground, Candy Cane Lane, and a canopy of lights styled like the alpine night sky with glowing wildlife scenes. There is also artisan shopping and food. It runs from November 13, 2026 through January 3, 2027. Tickets are $20; children under 5 and Alpine Zoo members get in free. Nightly hours are not listed on the page, and mountain evenings are cold, so dress in warm layers and check road conditions before driving up.
