Two family evenings on Riverside County Parks' 2026 fall activity list for Lake Cahuilla Veterans Regional Park in La Quinta, the lakeside park at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains. On Friday October 30, 'Mysteries of Lake Cahuilla' runs from 7 to 9 pm, a Halloween-weekend evening program at the lake. On Saturday November 14 the park shows an outdoor movie starting 30 minutes after sunset, the same day as the Veterans Fishing Derby. Bring blankets or low chairs, a flashlight and warm layers, since desert evenings cool quickly in late fall. The flyer lists only titles and times, so check with RivCoParks at (800) 234-7275 about the film, any park day-use fee, and whether the October program is geared to younger children.
