The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and the Fairfax Parks & Recreation Commission hold a two-day Día de los Muertos gathering at the Fairfax Pavilion. On Friday, October 30 (4–7 p.m.) and Sunday, November 1 (11 a.m.–3 p.m.) anyone can help build and decorate the community ofrenda by bringing a photo, flowers or a small memento of someone they remember. Sunday 3–6 p.m. is the community celebration and potluck with music and food for purchase; kids' crafts and activities run only during that Sunday gathering. Free and open to all; donations help cover decorations.
