Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek opens the holiday season with its Parade of Lights, an evening of music, entertainment and holiday cheer that moves throughout the outdoor shopping center. The highlight is a lighted parade followed by a tree-lighting ceremony led by Santa Claus himself, which makes it a favorite for families with young children. The event runs from 6 to 8:30 pm; arrive early for a good spot along the route and plan on crowds and busy parking.
