Gardens of Golden Gate Park

Lightscape returns to San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park for the 2026 winter season, turning the garden into an after-dark, one-mile trail of about a million lights with new art, color and sound installations. Visitors walk the route at their own pace after entering in a timed 15-minute window, and festive food and drinks are sold near the entrance (ticketholders may arrive up to 30 minutes early). Strollers are welcome on the garden's paths, and children 4 and under go free. Tickets are dated and timed; popular nights sell out, walk-ups are not guaranteed and carry a $5 same-day premium. A limited number of $10 Museums for All tickets are available every night for EBT/SNAP/Medi-Cal cardholders (up to four). Muni lines 5, 7, 43, 44 and the N-Judah serve the garden, and transit is strongly recommended.
