Mary Fuller of the Missouri Department of Conservation leads a 2-mile guided walk through Compton Hill Reservoir Park and the tree-lined streets of the Compton Heights neighborhood on Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The route takes in the fall colors and the history of the area, including the gently curving boulevards that were home to some of St. Louis's wealthiest residents in the early 1900s. The walk is part of the Missouri Department of Conservation's "A Walk in the Park" series, designed for all ages and abilities, with each session exploring a different city park's plants, wildlife and history. Registration is required (20 spots; 6 left when checked) and must be cancelled before the day of the walk if plans change.
