The Alpha Players, a community theater company, stage Nancy Crouse's adaptation of Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" at the James J. Eagan Center in Florissant. Audiences follow Ebenezer Scrooge as three spirits visit him on Christmas Eve and make him confront his past, present and future, ending with Tiny Tim's "God bless us, every one." The city lists the running time as about 90 minutes, a manageable length for school-age children who can sit through a play. The performance on the city calendar is Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale October 20: $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $10 each for groups of eight or more.
