A not-so-scary haunted house takes over part of Central Library on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. Children who are brave enough to walk through the spooky library are rewarded with a sweet treat at the end. Costumes are welcome. St. Louis Public Library pitches this walk-through at younger kids, ideally ages 3 to 8, so the scares are gentle. Teen volunteers help run the haunted scenes. It pairs naturally with Central's all-day Trick or Treat at the Library, which runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the same day. (Buder Library hosts its own Haunted Library on Oct. 31.)
