Central Library downtown turns into a trick-or-treat route on Saturday, Oct. 24. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., kids come in their Halloween costumes and go around the library collecting treats. St. Louis Public Library asks children to bring two things: a bag for the treats and a good joke to tell. The event is drop-in across a six-hour window, so families can fit it around other Halloween-weekend plans, and it suits a wide age range — the library recommends it for ages 3 to 17. The same afternoon (1–3 p.m.) Central also runs its not-so-scary Haunted Library for younger children, listed separately. Expect crowds and shared spaces during busy periods.
