Teens aged 12 to 16 spend a Saturday afternoon, Jan. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m., cooking Italian favorites with Lydia Gwin and the Kitchen Conservatory team. The hands-on menu covers creamy gnocchi soup, chicken parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo, garlic bread, roasted Italian vegetables, and lemon gelato with amaretti cookies — a full meal that teaches knife work, sauces and pasta. It falls during winter break, making it a useful day out for older kids who have outgrown the parent-and-child classes. The fee is $65 per person.
