A winter-break drop-off class for aspiring chefs aged 7 to 11 on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m., ahead of New Year's Eve. With Dawn Meyer, kids plan their own "midnight" celebration by making party snacks: bacon cheese straws, taco pinwheels, Cheez-It-crusted chicken bites with ranch dressing, strawberry pretzel bark, and brownie-batter dip served with graham crackers, marshmallows and fruit. Unlike the parent-and-child series, Apprentice Chef classes are for the children themselves. The fee is $55 per child.
