ZooTampa's monthly Conservation Connections day turns to manatees for Manatee Awareness Month. The zoo's Education team is stationed at the Manatee Habitat in the Florida area to talk about the species and how the zoo cares for rescued manatees, and children can try to diagnose and treat their own mock manatee patient. The day is part of the ZT Saves Kids' Club: kids collect a stamp at each monthly celebration in a notebook or passport (sold in the gift shops), with prizes at 4, 8 and 12 stamps, and this year's club adds a puppet mascot, Flora the Explorer. The zoo pitches it at kids of all ages. Activities run 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM inside the zoo; the event page lists no separate fee, ticket or registration, so check ZooTampa's admission page before you go.
