Tampa Bay History Center's Family Day: Director's Cut lets families step behind the scenes of filmmaking. Hands-on stations in the Wayne Thomas Gallery explore Foley, where kids create sound effects with everyday household objects; costume design for paper-doll characters; and how lighting, color, shadows and camera angles shape the mood of a scene. The drop-in program runs from 10 am to 2 pm on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and is aimed at families with school-age children. Entry is through regular museum admission.
