A monthly hands-on workshop in The Foundry, the Land O'Lakes Branch Library's woodworking makerspace, where children ages 9 to 12 learn to use hand tools safely and work with different kinds of wood. October's project is wand making; each session has its own project. Class time is two hours, though children may finish early depending on skill. Parents do not have to stay, but every participant needs a completed Foundry Waiver and Safety Playbook on file before the session (forms at the library's service desk or on the Foundry webpage), and closed-toe shoes are required. Registration is required and seats are very limited (six per session, and the October session was full when checked). The program is free through Pasco County Libraries.
