Nerf the Turf is a Friday-evening foam-dart battle for kids ages 7 to 12 at Alexandria's Patrick Henry Recreation Center on November 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Beyond the battles, the city frames it as a way for kids to build teamwork, problem-solving and sportsmanship skills. Participants bring their own gear and equipment, and the recreation staff supply the ammo. The fee is $19, and registration goes through the city's online registration linked from the event page. The center is at 4653 Taney Avenue. The city calendar also lists Nerf the Turf on Fridays, November 20 and December 4, at 6:30 p.m.; those session pages were not opened, so confirm their location when booking.
