Trot for a Turkey lets families walk or run the almost three-mile course of the Winter Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park and see the light displays up close, instead of from a car. The event is on Saturday, November 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., and it is open to all ages. Registration costs $35, and each registration fee provides a holiday turkey for a family in need, so it doubles as a family service project before Thanksgiving. Dress for an evening outdoors in late November. Watkins Regional Park is at 301 Watkins Park Drive in Upper Marlboro; questions go to PGParkRangers@pgparks.com or the Park Ranger office at 301-627-7755.
