Organizer
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department – Lockhart State Park

A Thanksgiving-weekend nature walk at Lockhart State Park focused on the animals that make the Blackland Prairie their home. A Texas Master Naturalist guides the group on about 3/4 mile of moderate trail, talking about which critters live in the park and how to spot them. All ages are welcome and there is no registration. Wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing and bring water; sunscreen or repellent may be useful. Meet at the Creekview Trailhead (first left after headquarters, past the campgrounds, along the paved loop) at 10 am for a one-hour walk — a good way to get the family outside the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
