A one-mile guided exploration hike led by Lost Pines Master Naturalist Aliceanne. Through observation, playful sensory activities and the natural history of the pine forest, the group investigates how people's nervous systems respond to time outdoors. The page describes it as designed for curious humans of all ages. The route runs from the Piney Hill camp loop down the Piney Hill Spur and Scenic Overlook trails, with sandy stretches, two low-water rock crossings and one steep uphill — so it suits school-age kids and confident walkers more than strollers. Expect 1 to 1.5 hours. Wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothes and bring bottled water. Meet at the playground area at 10 am.
