The St. Mary's High School boys' basketball team hosts its fifth annual 5K run and 1-mile fun run at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Check-in runs 8 to 9:15 a.m. at the Sassafras Pavilion, the 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. and the fun run immediately after. Pre-registered participants get a commemorative t-shirt, and there is food, vendors and fun after the race. Funds go to the boys' basketball program. A friendly option for families with kids who want a shorter distance.
