Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks and H&H Towing hold their annual Touch-a-Truck on Halloween morning at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord. Children can climb into and explore trucks, tractors, construction vehicles and other equipment that serves the community and meet the professionals who operate them; the county says this year's event also folds in the department's Fall Festival, so costumes fit right in. A low-sensory period with no flashing lights or sirens runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for children who are sensitive to noise, and it ends with the annual helicopter landing between 10:45 and 11 a.m. Admission is free, but parking costs $10 and is card-only (credit or debit).
