Heritage Village Museum in Sharon Woods sets up large model train layouts for its winter Train Days, from December 16 through January 3. Trains run past miniature villages, around mountains and through tunnels. Kids can try hands-on activities such as Morse code and the North Pole Hotline, and visitors get complimentary cookies, hot chocolate and samples from the layout's Candy Factory. Hours are 10 am to 3 pm (Sundays noon to 3 pm); closed December 24, 25 and 31 and January 1. Admission is $8 per person; members and children age 4 and under are free.
