For its tenth year, Plano Flags of Honor fills the Oak Point Event Field with American flags from November 7 to 14, 2026, to honor veterans and first responders. Each flag carries a dedication card telling the story of one person, from the Civil War to today, including family members, neighbors and people who gave their lives. Families can walk the field and read the cards together, which is a hands-on way to talk with school-age children about Veterans Day (November 11). Taps plays at dusk, and the field is also open to visit at night. The field is free and open to everyone all week. Events during the week include an opening ceremony, the Patriots Run 5K and Fun Run, and the Safety Fair & Touch-a-Truck on November 7 (listed separately).
