Downtown Grand Prairie starts the holiday season on Saturday, December 5, 2026, with its annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Lighted Holiday Parade. The official tree lighting is at 6 p.m. The evening also has live Christmas carols, a drone light show, holiday vendors selling gifts and treats, free photos with Santa Claus, and a lighted holiday parade through downtown. Admission is free. The page gives the hours as 6–9 p.m. in the event details, while its calendar block shows 5–9 p.m., so arriving around 5:30 should get you a good spot before the lighting. The festivities centre on Grand Prairie City Hall at 300 W. Main Street, and the calendar lists 120 W. Main Street. Dress warmly.
