Burleson's free BTX-MAS evening packs the town's biggest holiday traditions into one Saturday night in Old Town. The Burleson Rotary Club's 30th annual Christmas Parade of Lights starts at 6 pm at Burleson Collegiate High School and ends at Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza, where singers and dancers then perform on the plaza stage. At 8 pm Santa and his helpers flip the switch on a 34-foot Christmas tree with more than 20,000 lights, followed by a drone show synchronized to holiday music. An interactive Santa's cabin sits at the base of the tree, and Santa stays for photos — bring your own camera. The city lists the event as free. With the parade at 6 and the lighting at 8, families with young children can choose to come for the parade only or stay for the finale; dress warmly and arrive early for a spot along the route or on the plaza.
