Children of all ages can climb into and explore fire trucks, police vehicles, construction equipment and other city vehicles at the free Safety Fair & Touch-a-Truck at Oak Point Park in Plano. It runs Saturday, November 7, 2026, from noon to 4 p.m. on the Oak Point Event Field. Taking part are Plano Fire-Rescue, Plano Police, Public Works, Parks & Recreation and the Plano Public Library. A PHI Air Medical helicopter is planned to land, unless it gets called to an emergency. From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., teams of 1 to 12 people can enter a free Fire Truck Pull to see who can pull a fire truck fastest. If the weather allows, tethered hot air balloon rides are planned that evening for $25 per person. The fair is part of the 10th-anniversary Plano Flags of Honor, a field of American flags honoring veterans and first responders that is open November 7–14.
