A relaxed one-hour winter morning program at the Johnson Branch Unit of Ray Roberts Lake State Park. Ranger Celia hosts visitors around a campfire at Campsite 33 in the Juniper Cove camping loop, with hot cocoa or coffee and a view over the water. Families can warm up on a chilly morning and ask a ranger anything they want to know about the park and state parks in general, which makes it a gentle introduction for children who are new to camping. Bring a mug, water, closed-toed shoes and clothes for the weather. All ages are welcome. The site is in a camping loop with a gravel parking lot and cement paths to wheelchair-accessible restrooms. It is included in park entry fees and may be cancelled in bad weather.
