A Halloween-week sunset paddle on Galveston Bay led by Galveston Island State Park staff. Participants launch from the Oak Bayou Picnic Area for a relaxed one- to one-and-a-half-hour paddle as the sun goes down, wrapping up before dark. Witch hats, robes and other paddle-friendly costumes are encouraged, and witch hats and robes can be borrowed from the park's costume stash, first come, first served. Kayak, paddle, life jacket and small-group instruction from a trained guide are included, and all skill levels are welcome. The tour is for ages 13 and up only, and minors must be with an adult. Close-toed shoes are required; expect to get wet and salty. Registration is online only and opens seven days before each date.
