About this adventure

The Indiana Repertory Theatre's annual production of A Christmas Carol, adapted by Tom Haas and directed by Cara Hinh, plays on the OneAmerica Financial Stage downtown from mid-November through Dec. 26. Dickens's story of Scrooge's journey to redemption is told with carols and on-stage falling snow, and many Indianapolis families make it a yearly tradition. The show runs about 2 hours 5 minutes including a 20-minute intermission. IRT recommends it for 3rd grade and up and warns it has mild profanity, ghosts and effects that may frighten young children; a free study guide helps prepare kids. Special performances include a Sensory Friendly show and Girl Scout Day on Saturday, Nov. 14 (scouts make a Victorian ornament, meet actors and earn a patch), artist talk-backs after the 2 p.m. shows on Nov. 14 and Dec. 5, and ASL and audio-described performances such as Sunday, Dec. 6. The lobby opens an hour before curtain.
