About this adventure
The German-style holiday market on Carter Green in Carmel opens its 2026 season on Saturday, Nov. 21. At 11:30 a.m. the Opening Ceremony rings the first bell with live alphorn music and the Christkind, the angel-like gift bringer of German tradition, whom children can meet. In the evening, from 6 to 6:45 p.m., the Tree Lighting Ceremony brings performances, remarks and a countdown to light the market's 2026 Christmas tree. Between the two, families can browse the wooden market huts, visit the Kinderecke kids' corner for crafts and the Spielhaus play house for kid-friendly entertainment and character meet-and-greets, and skate at the adjoining Ice at Carter Green (separate ticket). Market admission is free; the market is open noon to 9 p.m. on Saturdays.
