About this adventure
At the Brown County State Park Nature Center, a naturalist brings out one of Indiana's native snakes for an up-close look. Kids learn about the snake's unique traits, the threats snakes face and how they affect people's lives, and participants may pet the snake at the end. The program lasts about 30 minutes and involves a live animal, so it is a good way for nervous children to meet a snake in a calm setting. The Nature Center also offers turtle feedings and a mammal-fur touch table on other days this week.
