About this adventure

For one weekend historic downtown Fernandina Beach turns into a Victorian Christmas village inspired by A Christmas Carol. The 12th annual festival is free to wander, with holiday shopping from more than a hundred vendors, food and drink, costumed characters and performers on two stages and roaming the streets. Families should head for Tiny Tim's Kid Zone, where children can write a letter to St. Nick and post it in Santa's mailbox, pose for keepsake portraits with St. Nick (reservations through Boston Photography) and watch holiday classics in the Old Vic Theatre movie alley. On Saturday morning the Parade of Paws brings costumed pets down Centre Street from Centre & 4th Streets at 10 am, and the family-friendly Run Like the Dickens one-mile fun run takes place on Main Beach. Some extras need reservations or tickets (the Enchanted Village snow-globe experience and Fezziwig's Courtyard tables), and Dickens After Dark is 21+. Downtown parking is very limited; use the free parking and trolleys from 11th Street at Central Park.
