Organizer
Missouri Department of Conservation

A two-hour Missouri Department of Conservation workshop at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center in Midtown Kansas City. Participants weave something useful from foraged foliage - reeds, vines and grasses - such as a small basket, bag or sunhat, to keep or to give as a holiday gift. It is open to ages 12 and up, so it suits teens and homeschool families with older kids alongside a parent. Participants are encouraged to bring materials they gathered during the growing season. Registration is required, opens October 28, and is capped at 25 seats; email the instructor at least a week ahead if accommodations are needed.
